2026EICMA: KTM shows off its CFMOTO 450SR

KTM 450 RC makes global debut at EICMA 2026, but not available until 2028

Back in August, KTM CEO, Gottfried Neumeister, revealed that the company was preparing to expand its fully faired RC lineup, confirming that a 490cc sportbike was in development.

Fast forward to EICMA, KTM surprised visitors with the 450 RC instead. This isn’t an entirely new motorcycle, as the same model was introduced in China in April this year, and it shares its platform with CFMOTO’s 450SR-S sportbike.

KTM says the 450 RC gets its own chassis setup, engine calibration, and specifications, with premium components and the brand’s signature riding dynamics.

Its suspension package consists of fully adjustable WP

Its suspension package consists of fully adjustable WP APEX components at both ends. Up front is a 43mm inverted fork with compression and rebound adjustment, while the rear gets a WP APEX shock with adjustable preload and rebound.

Braking comes from a 320mm front disc and a four-piston radial WP caliper. The single-disc setup helps reduce unsprung weight, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tires are fitted as standard.

The 450 RC also gets electronic rider aids typically found on larger KTM Street models, like Cornering ABS, dual-channel ABS with Road and Supermoto modes, and multiple riding modes. The settings are accessible through a 5-inch TFT display, with USB-A and USB-C charging ports completing the equipment list.

Perhaps the most noticeable feature is its single-sided

Perhaps the most noticeable feature is its single-sided swingarm. This is also found on the CFMOTO 450SR-S, further pointing to the shared engineering behind the two motorcycles.

KTM says production of the 450 RC for global markets is scheduled to begin in late 2027, with deliveries expected as a 2028 model. Full technical specifications and market availability details will be announced closer to the start of production.
