Arsenal are seriously considering a blockbuster move for Real Madrid and Brazilian sensation Vinicius Junior as they look to boost their attacking firepower on the left wing. The 26-year-old, who finished runner-up at the 2024 Ballon d’Or, stands as a leading candidate to boost the Premier League champions’ attacking options ahead of the new season.
Although no formal negotiations have yet begun between the clubs, Arsenal’s interest in Vinicius Jr. is solid. However, the financial side of the equation poses a significant hurdle. Spanish football analyst Terry Gibson revealed the huge disparity in salary expectations on Sky Sports News: “Vinicius Junior currently nets €15 million a year. Real Madrid have offered him €20 million, but he demands €30 million – more than €550,000 per week.” Gibson outlined the impasse: “There has been no change from Real Madrid or Vinicius. Madrid are looking for alternatives such as RB Leipzig’s Yann Diomande. This contract saga has dragged on for 18 months.” Given these figures, Gibson expressed doubt about any Premier League club, including Arsenal, meeting such astronomical demands.
