- Cadillac has confirmed that the XT5 and XT6 are coming back after discontinuing both SUVs.

Cadillac discontinued the XT6 in early 2025, saying there was not enough room in its lineup for another three-row SUV alongside the hugely popular Escalade and the then-new Vistic. But just over a year later, the luxury brand is already changing its mind.
in a post on LinkedinCristian Aquilina, vice president of Cadillac Global, confirmed that the XT6 will return to the lineup – and, importantly, it will be powered by a gas engine. Aquilina also reiterated that Cadillac is bringing back the smaller XT5, which we first reported on last August.
When the XT6 was discontinued its sales weren’t exactly a flop. Cadillac sold more than 20,000 examples during its final model year in 2025. Meanwhile, the XT5 was less successful, selling just over 2,700 units that year. Even at its peak, the crossover never topped 7,000 units a year.
Still, Cadillac believes demand for gasoline-powered SUVs remains strong enough to justify bringing back both models. The revived XT5 and XT6 will remain alongside the next-generation CT5 sedan.
As far as the compact XT4 is concerned, there’s no new news to share. Cadillac quietly ended production of that model in late 2024 after selling just under 16,000 units in its final year.
Cadillac hasn’t said exactly when the XT5 and XT6 will return, but with the now official announcement, chances are they won’t be for much longer.

Electric models like the Escalade iQ, Optic and Vistic remain key parts of the brand’s future, but bringing back the XT5 and XT6 with gasoline power acknowledges that many luxury SUV buyers are still not ready to make the move to fully electric vehicles.
