If you haven’t heard, the news coming out of Comic-Con on July 25, 2026 is that Black Panther 3 is set to be released in theaters on December 15, 2028, and not only is Ryan Coogler returning to direct, but Letitia Wright is back as Shuri. But perhaps the most surprising news about the upcoming Marvel movie is that it’s being reported that a new actor, David Johnson, will be emerging as Black Panther. Johnson will actually play T’Challa’s son.
Now, for those who watched Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverYou may remember that T’Challa’s son was a little boy. So, presumably, there is some kind of time manipulation at play here. Given that some Marvel movies are scheduled to be released before then, perhaps some groundwork for clarification will already be laid black panther 3.
While we’re all guessing and waiting, let’s talk more about Jonsson. The 32-year-old actor is a native of London, England, attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, has a BAFTA, and is quite an accomplished young actor. In fact, here are his five best onscreen roles that you may recognize him from.
5. ‘Rye Lane’ (2023)

Jonsson made his romantic comedy debut in the 2013 film Rye Lane. He plays a man named Dom, who recently goes through a breakup and has a chance encounter with a woman named Yes (Vivian Oprah), who has also gone through a breakup. They spend the day together, exploring each other, while also trying to determine if there is a connection between them or if it is just a rebound situation.
4. ‘Alien: Romulus’ (2024)
in the seventh installment of Foreigner In the series Jonsson plays Andy, an android who is programmed to be a surrogate brother. He and the rest of the heroes find themselves trying to survive on a space colony but are confronted by hostile creatures who more or less want to destroy them.
3.’‘Westman’ (2026)

In westmanJonsson plays Taylor, a prison cook who has been in prison for 13 years. As he faces release from prison and the opportunity to reunite with his son, his new cellmate threatens him as he delves deeper into the unsettling aspects of the prison ecosystem and has no problem dragging Jonson down with him.
2.’Industry’ (2020-)
Industry is a popular HBO series that follows a group of young and motivated graduates looking to advance in the financial field. His commitment to succeed provides many dramatic scenarios that affect both his professional and personal lives. Jonsson plays Augustus Saiki, an ambitious bachelor from a wealthy family who, while blunt, may be too principled for the cutthroat financial world.
1. ‘The Long Walk’ (2025)

Based on the novel by Stephen King, long walkSet in a dystopian world of the 1970s, it follows a group of boys/young men who compete in a televised day-long foot-running competition. Unfortunately for the contestants, if they fail to run at a certain speed, they are killed. The premise may seem simple, but the twists and turns are anything but. Jonsson plays a character named Pete, a selfless and kind man.
