Suzuki SV-7GX: New crossover blends sporty character with touring capability

Suzuki has unveiled the all-new SV-7GX, a middleweight crossover designed for riders who want a motorcycle that can handle the daily commute, spirited riding on winding roads and long-distance travel. Built around the proven SV650 platform, the newcomer retains the iconic 645 cc 90-degree V-twin engine while adopting a more adventure-inspired and travel-focused persona.

The styling has been developed with a particular emphasis on aerodynamics, benefiting from extensive wind-tunnel testing aimed at improving rider safety without sacrificing visual appeal. The front end features full LED lighting, while the three-position adjustable windscreen and standard handguards enhance comfort during extended trips. The ergonomics have been carefully crafted to balance control and comfort, with a wide aluminum handlebar, low 795mm seat height and a comfortable riding position that differs from the sportier stance of traditional naked bikes.

Power comes from Suzuki’s long-established 645 cc liquid-cooled V-twin, which now conforms to Euro 5+ regulations. The engine produces 54 kW (73.4 hp) and 64 Nm of torque, maintaining the strong low-end response and smooth power delivery that has made it popular among riders over the years. Suzuki claims a fuel consumption of just 4.2 litres/100 km, and coupled with the 17.4-litre fuel tank, the bike offers a range of over 400 kilometers between refuelling.

The electronics package is managed through the Suzuki Intelligent Ride system and includes ride-by-wire throttle control, three riding modes, three-level traction control with the option to disable it completely, a bi-directional quickshifter, Easy Start technology and low RPM assist. Together, these systems allow the rider to adapt the motorcycle’s behavior to a wide variety of situations, from city traffic to difficult travel routes.

The chassis combines a steel trellis frame with a tubular swingarm and a rear shock absorber with seven-step preload adjustment. At the front, a 41mm telescopic fork handles the suspension duties, while the 17-inch wheels are shod with Pirelli Angel GT II tyres. Braking performance is provided by dual 290 mm front discs and 240 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers, all supported by ABS. Curb weight is listed at 211 kg.

Technology plays an important role thanks to the 4.2-inch full-color TFT display with automatic brightness adjustment. Through Suzuki Ride Connect+, available for Android and iOS devices, riders have access to turn-by-turn navigation, call and message notifications, weather information, traffic alerts and various motorcycle data. A USB-C charging port is also fitted as standard.

The Suzuki SV-7GX will arrive at dealerships from September 2026 in Cortina White, Zante Blue, Buffalo Grey, and Dubai Black. A wide range of genuine accessories will be available, including a 45-litre top case, expandable semi-rigid panniers, a comfortable seat and a large touring windscreen, allowing owners to further customize the bike to their touring ambitions.
