2026 Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Spied – Top 5 Expected Changes

Maruti Suzuki have begun testing the Fronx facelift, with the first spy shots revealing a heavily camouflaged test mule. Launched in April 2023, the Fronx is due for a mid-cycle update that could bring revised styling, additional safety and convenience features, and a new 3-cylinder petrol engine.

Update (October 29, 2026):The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift was spotted testing recently with a revised grille and rear disc brakes. The update is also expected to bring Level 2 ADAS, new cabin features and a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder non-turbo petrol and CNG engine options alongside the existing 1L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.

The latest Fronx test mule retains the familiar coupe-SUV silhouette and split-lighting arrangement, suggesting that Maruti are focusing on incremental improvements rather than a major design overhaul. The updated model is expected to arrive in the coming months, potentially around the Auto Expo in February 2027.

The Fronx competes with the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Mahindra XUV 3XO in India’s competitive B2 SUV segment.

Here are the top 5 changes we expect from the 2027 Fronx facelift.

1. Revised Exterior Design

The latest spy shots show that the Fronx will retain its existing overall silhouette, sloping roofline, rear spoiler and split-lighting arrangement. However, the camouflage reveals a revised front grille, while minor changes to the front and rear bumpers are also likely.

The upper lighting units and separately positioned headlamps retain their current layout. The rear lamps are partially covered, so we could expect an updated rear lighting signature.

Expected exterior updates include:

  • Revised front grille
  • Minor front and rear bumper revisions
  • Updated tail lamps
  • New exterior colour and alloy wheel options

Overall, we do not expect any groundbreaking changes to the design of the 2027 Fronx.

2. ADAS

Just like the new Baleno facelift, the upcoming Fronx facelift is expected to offer ADAS. On the latest test mule, the centre of the grille is covered, which could be hiding an ADAS radar module.

If introduced, the Fronx facelift could offer ADAS features such as:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Autonomous emergency braking
  • Lane-keeping assistance
  • High-beam assistance

3. Rear Disc Brakes And More Cabin Features

The test mule in the latest spy shots feature rear disc brakes. The existing model uses front disc brakes and rear drum brakes as standard. We expect the rear disc setup to be offered with the Fronx turbo petrol variants.

The spy shots do not provide a clear view of the cabin. However, the recently updated Baleno offers some clues about the new features Maruti Suzuki could introduce in the Fronx facelift.

New feature additions on the Fronx facelift could include:

  • Ventilated front seats
  • Wireless charging with cooling
  • Revised seat upholstery
  • An upgraded audio system

Maruti Suzuki could also revise the feature distribution across variants to distinguish the higher variants from the base trims.

4. New 1.2L 3-Cylinder Petrol Engine

The biggest expected mechanical change is the replacement of the Fronx’s current 1.2L, 4-cylinder non-turbo petrol engine with Maruti Suzuki’s newer 1.2L, 3-cylinder non-turbo petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki introduced the 1.2L, 3-cylinder non-turbo petrol engine in the 4th-generation Swift in May 2024, followed by the Dzire in November 2024. The Baleno facelift adopted the engine in September 2026, while the updated Toyota Glanza followed in October 2026.

The 1.2L, 3-cylinder engine produces 83PS and 112Nm, which is 7PS and 1Nm lower than the 1.2L, 4-cylinder engine.

The Fronx facelift is also expected to offer a 1.2L, 3-cylinder CNG engine borrowed from the Baleno facelift. The Baleno CNG produces 70PS of power and 102Nm of torque.

The existing 1L turbo-petrol engine is expected to continue alongside the non-turbo petrol option.

5. Similar Price Positioning And Toyota Taisor Update

The Fronx is currently priced from Rs. 6.90 lakh to Rs. 12.03 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the facelift to retain a similar price positioning. However, additional equipment such as ADAS could lead to price increases on higher variants.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, which shares its underlying architecture with the Fronx, could receive corresponding updates soon after the launch of the Fronx facelift.

2027 Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift: Expected Launch

Maruti Suzuki are yet to announce a launch date, but the updated model could arrive in the coming months, potentially around the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in February 2027.

The main expected changes include a revised grille and bumpers, ADAS, rear disc brakes, new cabin features and new 1.2L, 3-cylinder non-turbo petrol and CNG engine options.
