Saturday marks 46 years since one of the most decorated rock bands of all time released another hit that reached the top 10 in the United States and the United Kingdom.

June 20th is a special day in the music industry. The great Lionel Richie celebrates his 77th birthday. 57 years ago today, David Bowie recorded his first UK No. 1 hit, “Space Oddity”, at London’s Trident Studios.

Today is also an important day for Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, as they released another hit on June 20, 1980.

The Rolling Stones maintained their success throughout the ’70s with hits such as “Brown Sugar,” “Wild Horses,” “Angie” and “Beast of Burden.” However, it did not take long for him to make his mark at the beginning of the next decade.

46 years ago today, the The Rolling Stones released “Emotional Rescue”, a song about a man helping a woman through her personal struggles.

The group worked on the song during a tense feud between Jagger and Keith Richards, as described far magazine. Nonetheless, Jagger and Richards managed to put aside their differences to work on their first big hit of the new decade, “Emotional Rescue”.

The song was released as part of the album of the same name. The album included other notable songs such as “Send It to Me” and “She’s So Cold”. The latter was a top 40 hit in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

‘Emotional Rescue’ was a top ten hit in the US and UK.

After 15 days of its release, “Emotional Rescue” reached number 3. board hot 100 In the United States. But uk singles chart“Emotional Rescue” peaked at number 9 on the week of July 19–25.

Rolling Stones classics such as “Start Me Up,” “Waiting on a Friend,” “Hang Fire” and “Undercover of the Night” would follow “Emotional Rescue.”
