This is the XSR900 GP in the new Legend Blue colour for 2027. Talk about a dramatic entry!

A closer look. It’s a tribute to Yamaha’s GP racer Christian Sarron’s Sonauto Yamaha

It comes in four colours. This new Legend Blue colour,

And this Power Grey colour. The latter three colours are carried over from last year

Inside shot of the XSR900 GP Legend Blue showing the right profile.

It looks quite retro, for it is a sport heritage model

But gets modern rider aids, like this 5-inch TFT display with ride modes,

This fully adjustable KYB monoshock. 46mm KYB USD fork is fully adjustable too!

Cruise control as standard. You can see the adjustable fork at the background.

Like a lot of other Yamahas, we don’t get this one in India either.

We’d just like to end by saying, uff!

The Yamaha XSR900 GP was launched last year in Europe. Based on the regular XSR900, the XSR900 GP brought back some of Yamaha 80’d and 90’s GP-bike aesthetics to the modern era. For 2027, Yamaha has unveiled a new ‘Legend Blue’ colour option for it, paying homage to Christian Sarron, reminiscent of his championship winning Sonauto Yamaha.

Mechanically the XSR900 GP remains identical to the XSR900, with a 890cc, triple-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 119hp at 10,000rpm and 93Nm at 7,000rpm. It retains all the electronic rider aids as well such as, cruise control, traction control, quickshifter and a 5-inch TFT display. The starting price remains unchanged at EUR 11,499 (Rs 12.23 lakh).

EUR-to-INR conversions based on exchange rates at the time of writing.
