We’re eager to learn more about Ford’s upcoming new UEV pickup truck. There is no official name for this vehicle yet, but many people are calling it new. Ranchera.

This new analysis is based on a fact from Autopian.com, they have a clear picture of the tire size of the prototype. Its 245/50R20 On the prototype that was spied in California. This means that at least these test vehicles rode on 20-inch wheels that were 29.6 inches in diameter and wrapped by 9.6-inch-wide tires (if there was no weight load on the tire).

Estimated length of this prototype
I tried multiple images and multiple pixel/ratio analyses. Speculation focuses on this new UEV pickup truck prototype 121 inch wheelbase with overall length 181 inches. The wheelbase is almost identical to the existing Ford Maverick pickup. (Side note: The current Ford Ranger Crew Cab has a wheelbase of 128.7 inches.)
Length is approximately 181 inches 18 inches short Compared to the Ford Maverick. This makes sense since it is an electric vehicle. A relatively long wheelbase is necessary to house the battery. It should also provide stability. The short front overhang is typical for an electric vehicle and will make it easier to maneuver and park. The rear overhang is long because it needs to accommodate the pickup bed. If this electric pickup has a midget, it will greatly improve the utility of this pickup by allowing it to carry longer items.
Do you know which vehicle has an overall length of approximately 181 inches? This is the new Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 is the most popular vehicle on sale in the United States.
Estimated width of this prototype
According to the same pixel/ratio analysis based on the size of a standard Michigan license plate, estimates suggest this new electric pickup 73 inches wide with 62 inch track width. These estimates match the widths of the current Ford Maverick, the non-Raptor Ford Ranger, and the new Toyota RAV4.
Please remember that these are just estimates based on images of a mock-up prototype. Nevertheless, these estimates are credible and interesting.
Ford’s new UEV pickup truck has compact dimensions and a low stance. If its goal is to be a useful small pickup truck, we’ll evaluate it by its payload and towing capacity. Will these numbers be close to the Ford Maverick or Ford Ranger? We will have to wait to find out.
