This new Italian supercar is equipped with a naturally aspirated V8 and a manual transmission

  • Automobili Mignata is teasing its new supercar Reina Coupe.
  • It will join the Barchetta already in the lineup, featuring a “double-bubble” roof and cam-style rear end.
  • The car will have a 493 horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine and a manual transmission.

The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed plays host to an important preview for Automobili Mignata, the young Piedmont automaker based in Italy specializing in handcrafted sports cars.

The company chose the British event to reveal the first sketches of the upcoming Reina coupe, due in 2027, and to present a new interpretation of the Reina Barchetta, featuring an original livery inspired by Italy’s tradition of artisan coachbuilding.

Coupe expands Reina lineup

The new Reina Coupé is designed to join the Barchetta while retaining its underlying philosophy, but with a closed body style inspired by the Italian grand tourers of the 1960s. The drawings show a Cam-style rear end with a smooth profile, a “double-bubble” roof and twin round taillights, elements that reinterpret classic sports-car design in a modern way.

The mechanical package remains faithful to the original concept, featuring a carbon-fiber monocoque, a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 producing approximately 493 horsepower, and a six-speed manual transaxle, prioritizing a completely analog driving experience.

A barchetta with an artistic touch

As well as the coupe sketch, Goodwood also marks the debut of the new Reina Barchetta finished in a light colour, developed to highlight its shape and pay homage to the Piedmontese “Battillastra”, artisans who once hand-shaped the bodywork of classic Italian sports cars.

The sports car also features forged-carbon details, a new wheel design and updated interior finish, including a redesigned shifter gate and several machined-from-solid components. Also on display on the stand are a number of technical parts, such as the carbon-fibre driveshaft, a solution that helps reduce weight and improve the car’s dynamic response.

Motor1’s Opinion: A naturally aspirated V8 engine paired with a true manual transmission is a must-have in Italian sports cars, and we’re glad Automobili Mignata is still keeping that tradition alive.
