BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition, a special edition developed around the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026. Designed to reflect the motorcycles used during the famous adventure competition, it combines the proven boxer engine with premium off-road equipment, allowing customers to have a machine inspired by the official event bike.
Inspired by BMW’s toughest adventure challenge
The BMW R12 G/S GS Trophy competition is designed for riders participating in the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026, which will be held in Romania from 13 to 18 September. Competitors will face demanding mountain roads, forests, river crossings and off-road sections.
The customer versions will closely resemble the official competition motorcycles, with only minor differences in graphics.
Boxer performance with advanced off-road capability
Power comes from BMW’s 1,170 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine producing 80 kW (109 hp) at 7,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Standard equipment includes Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips, and Comfort Package with cruise control. Riders also benefit from the headlight Pro with adaptive cornering lights, multiple riding modes, and the Enduro Package Pro with off-road tires, 18-inch rear wheel, and handlebar risers.
Adventure Ready Accessories
The GS Trophy Competition also includes engine protection bars, cylinder head guards, a rally cockpit fairing, an Akrapovic silencer and a five-litre tank bag.
Finished in BMW’s Lightwhite Uni color with red graphics and matching red seat, the motorcycle is also equipped with an integrated navigation system.
With this special edition, BMW Motorrad brings the spirit of the international GS Trophy closer to customers by offering one of the closest production interpretations of its official competition motorcycle.
