Stark Future Launches Limited-Run VARG MX and EX Factory Editions with Full KYB Works Suspension – thepack.news

Stark Future has introduced the VARG MX and EX Factory Editions, two limited-production off-road electric motorcycles developed with input from racing director Sebastian Tortelli. The models are based on the existing VARG platform, but feature work-level suspension, lightweight components and modified electronics, aimed at giving riders more control rather than more power.

Production is limited to 200 units for the MX Factory Edition and 300 units for the EX Factory Edition, which is sold as a single global edition.

Full KYB Factory A-Kit Suspension

The main change in both the bikes is the suspension. Stark says this is the first time a manufacturer has fitted a full KYB factory A-kit setup – as used in competition – to a production motorcycle rather than a road-going adaptation.

Package includes:

  • 48mm closed-cartridge, air-oil-separated coil-spring fork with hard-anodized internals and DLC-coated inner tubes
  • Mid-speed valve for wide adjustment range
  • Custom spring collar for front-wheel control
  • Triple-adjustable rear shock, Kashima-coated body, DLC-coated piston rod
  • X-Trig preload adjuster for faster sag setup

Front travel is 310 mm on the MX and 300 mm on the EX; Both share 303mm of rear travel.

Weight and component changes

In addition to the suspension, both versions get a set of lightweight, factory-spec parts:

  • CNC-machined triple clamp, individually numbered 1-500
  • 3D-Printed Titanium Footpeg (-140g)
  • Titanium Bolt Kit (-900g)
  • high seat seat
  • Hand operated rear brake, subject to regional homologation
  • 80 hp alfa drivetrain
  • Dynamic Traction Control is integrated into Ride Mode
  • Modified Bio PA6 Radiator Fan Holder

Starck says the titanium parts alone weigh more than 1kg.

MX and EX variants

The MX Factory Edition uses stark red graphics, a 7.2 kWh VARG platform and Dunlop MX34 tires intended for Motocross use.

The EX Factory Edition uses Forest Gray graphics, an 80 hp enduro-tuned setup, Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres, front and rear disc protection and hand guards. It retains full road symmetry for enduro use.

Sebastian Tortelli on development

Tortelli said the Factory versions reflected ongoing lessons from racing in FIM Supercross, Superenduro, EnduroGP, Hard Enduro and Erzbergrodeo, and the goal was to provide riders with more grip and precision rather than additional power. He described the bikes as built to the specifications he would choose for himself.
