PLS Logistics Services acquired AGL Group, a Weymouth, Mass.-based international freight forwarder, in a deal that expands PLS’s portfolio, the company announced June 25.

PLS said the acquisition expands domestic freight services as well as PLS’s international forwarding capabilities, including truckload, less-than-truckload, transportation management systems and managed services.

The company said the deal strengthens its market position, diversifies its customer base and broadens its supply chain service offering. Financial terms were not disclosed.

AGL Group will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of PLS ​​Logistics. Steve Zambo will remain CEO of AGL and report to Steven Bergen, President of PLS ​​Logistics.
