Response: Those AI studies
The AI study we covered (very carefully) yesterday definitely sent the Internet into a tizzy…
- “I listened to samples of human versus AI voices. The AI’s audio quality was much better. For one thing it was louder. So I don’t think it’s a fair test at all if that’s what the respondents heard.” – Podnews reader Gloria
- “The first study looks at AI audiobooks versus human narrators, funded by an AI audiobook company and compares single narrator versus AI generated multi-cast, so the real conclusion is that people may prefer multi-cast audiobooks” – Angry BlueSky-er
- “First, listeners did not listen to both AI and human and then chose AI. Second, it compared multi-cast AI narration to a single-voice human narration, so respondents may have preferred multi-cast.” – improved fediverse-user mignon
- “100% of AI speech startups supporting this research agree” – Cynic Fediverse-user Max
