KTM debuted its enduro dirt bike lineup. same, same, but different

KTM has given us some spectacular machinery in 2026, from a limited-edition Super Duke RR Track to a 450 Rally Replica. They are two models that will surely garner positive headlines in view of the financial difficulties faced by the Austrian company. So, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the minimal updates to the 2027 Enduro lineup are due to budget constraints, but the latest update actually aligns perfectly with the general product lifecycle.

In 2024, the Enduro range was overhauled, with 95% of the components being new. Some of the highlights were the new frame, closed-cartridge suspension and the switch from TPI to TBI on the two-stroke. Cosmetic upgrades in 2025. Then, in 2026, the lineup received a mid-cycle refresh that focused on the suspension and the 2-stroke range was reclassified for competition-use only due to European emissions legislation.

Now, for 2027, it’s essentially another cosmetic update. The XC-W range has received a new graphics update, which as expected is in line with KTM’s ready-to-race identity. Other than that, the categories remain largely the same.

The 2-stroke range includes the 125 XC-W, 150 XC-W, 250 XC-W and 300 XC-W designations, giving riders enough versatility to find the performance they need, with each machine focused on competition. On the 4-stroke side, there are very few options, as riders are limited to only the 450 XCF-W.

I certainly wouldn’t be looking at KTM’s 2027 enduro lineup from the left. Sure, these are the same machines you could have picked up for 2026, but with objectively nicer graphics. But KTM’s Enduro range is already far ahead of the competition in terms of performance, and look no further than the fact that the brand took first and second place in the world’s toughest hard enduro race, the Erzbergrodeo. If anything, this news makes me even more excited to see what KTM has in store for 2028.
