Jake Paul certainly isn’t afraid of controversy, and he caused some controversy on Saturday night by mocking Conor McGregor’s knee injury in his UFC 329 fight against Max Holloway.
The fight marked McGregor’s return after a five-year layoff, but given the anticipation and hype surrounding his return it became one of the most controversial moments in recent sporting history.
Paul, who has had some run-ins with McGregor in the past, decided to post a video of himself staggering around holding his knee before falling into the pool. The caption read, “UFC highlights from tonight.”

MMA fans didn’t take well to Paul trolling McGregor’s injury.
“This isn’t funny, Jake,” one fan wrote.
Another said, “Celebrating another person’s injury is low enough.”
A third wrote, “Karma has a way of coming when you make fun of sports injuries.”
Another fan commented, “Strange how he’s laughing at someone when he was just a few months ago.”
Paul has challenged McGregor to a boxing match several times over the years, but the two have never been able to fight.
McGregor’s only professional boxing match came in 2017 when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in one of the biggest combat sports events in history.
Although it is unlikely that a fight with Paul would generate the same level of publicity, it would still attract a lot of attention if McGregor ever entertained the idea.
However, following his knee injury on Saturday night, McGregor faces a long road to recovery before returning to competition, whether it’s in the Octagon or in the boxing ring – something he Have not refused.
