Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has been released in Australia to considerable publicity and intense interest.
The first film shot entirely on IMAX film has inspired fans to go on their own epic journey – crossing oceans to see it in one of only 41 theaters around the world equipped to screen it in its original 70mm format.
But just as Homer’s odyssey is playing out onscreen, it’s also struggling offscreen, with some saying the film could help the prospects of an ailing cinema industry trying to survive in the age of streaming.
