Apple TV Celebrates World Premiere of Heart-pounding Limited Series “Lucky”

On Monday, July 13, Apple TV celebrated the highly anticipated limited series “Lucky” with a star-studded, red carpet premiere event at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

“Lucky” is an exciting, new limited series starring and executive produced by Golden Globe and SAG Award winner and Emmy Award-nominee Anya Taylor-Joy. Attendees at the event included Taylor-Joy, executive producer Reese Witherspoon, series stars Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins, Jr. and William Fichtner, creator, co-showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Tropper, co-showrunner and executive producer Cassie Pappas, executive producer Lauren Neustadter, director and executive producer Jonathan Van Tulken. Author Marissa Stapley. “Lucky” will make its global debut on Apple TV with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 15, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through August 19.

“Lucky” is based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley and a Reese’s Book Club pick. When a multi-million dollar heist comes to light, con artist Lucky (Anya Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for his life – and get out.

Jonathan Tropper, Lauren Neustadter, Reese Witherspoon, Anya Taylor-Joy, Cassie Pappas and Jonathan Van Tulipken attended the world premiere at the Directors Guild of America. The new limited series will debut globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Inspired by Apple Studios and Hello Sunshine, “Lucky” is co-showrunner, written and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper through his Tropper Inc. banner and under his overall agreement with Apple TV. Executive producer Cassie Pappas serves as co-showrunner with Tropper. The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner, Ladykiller. Jonathan Van Tulipen, who directed the pilot, also executive produces.
