They say perception is reality. And if that’s the case, no one is a fan of Fox Sports football analyst Alexi Lalas.
Lalas, 56, has been with the network for more than a decade. He appears on TV screens every four years when the U.S. men’s national team qualifies for the FIFA World Cup. He has worked with a handful of analysts during his tenure, but an argument can be made that his counterparts this year are as typical as they come.
Thierry Henry joined the network seven months ago and is one of the faces of Fox Sports’ pre- and post-game shows as well as halftime. He is the reigning FIFA World Cup champion after leading France to the title in 1998. He is also an Arsenal legend.
Then there’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joined as an analyst in March. Although he never won a World Cup with Sweden, Ibrahimovic is considered one of the game’s best players most prolific scorer And played with giants like Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Italy’s biggest clubs, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan. He is also Sweden’s all-time leading scorer.
Lalas, for his part, is a former hippie-looking MLS player whose claim to fame is starring in all four games for the U.S. men’s national team at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

If it seems like Lalas’ football resume pales in comparison to Henry and Ibrahimovic, that’s because it does. But their playing careers ended a long time ago, and if you’re going to compare them now, you have to compare how they perform as football analysts.
In that regard, it almost feels as if Henry and Ibrahimovic think they are better suited for the job, especially Ibrahimovic.
By now, you’ve likely seen videos circulating on social media of Henry and Ibrahimovic making little to no effort to demonstrate their disdain for Lalas. The most obvious case occurred after the France-Senegal game this week.
For starters, it was former USMNT star Landon Donovan who called France “arrogant” and “casual” for their first-half performance, which saw Kylian Mbappe and France score no goals. France won 3–1 with two goals from Mbappé.

Henry not taken kindly According to Donovan, a debate broke out in the studio over whether France played arrogantly.
Lalas said, “We can discuss that, but the reality is that if they are arrogant, it is because they can do things like this. The composure they showed to come back after a poor first half and deliver an excellent second half with their talent and the big star looks is very special.”
Ibrahimovic wasn’t having it.
“It’s not arrogance, it’s confidence,” he quickly interjected. “Ignorant people will say it is arrogance, intelligent people will say it is confidence.”
Henry’s reaction is priceless. Watch:

The not so subtle one immediately claps back spread rumors Analysts are emphasizing on this. Not helping matters is that Ibrahimovic couldn’t be bothered to praise Lala after going on James Corden’s show and calling out the Swedish star for saying. four zlatans could have done a better job.
After the clip aired during the postgame show, Ibrahimovic immediately praised hosts Rebecca Lowe and Henry, but declined to praise Lalas.

Ibrahimovic might have then said, “Trust me, love all,” but the impression is that he and Henry are not fans of Lalas.
Henry, meanwhile, went viral for his reaction to Joe Lalas’s “”.lower area“Earning comments, praise from an industry authority For his performance in his first year as a Fox Sports soccer analyst.
