There’s a new GWM Haval H7 reaching local showrooms, and it looks completely different from the last one.

The single front-wheel drive hybrid configuration of the previous H7 has been discarded in favour of a four-member model lineup, based on the same platform as before but now featuring GWM’s Hi4 all-wheel drive system across the range.
GWM says the new-generation mid-size SUV gives buyers a tougher-looking, more adventure-focused alternative to the similarly sized Haval H6, and like its showroom-mate it can be had with hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) power.
As reported by CarExpertearlier this week after we saw a dealer bulletin, the range opens with the Haval H7 Lux Hybrid AWD priced at $46,990 drive-away, with a $1000 discount available at launch. The cheapest PHEV is the Lux at $50,990 drive-away, or $49,990 drive-away at launch.

For context, the GWM Haval H6 can only be had with all-wheel drive and either hybrid or PHEV powertrains in top Ultra trim. The hybrid is priced at $47,490 drive-away and the PHEV at $50,990 drive-away.
The new-generation Haval H7 is now arriving at GWM’s national network of 130 dealers.
While the GWM Haval H7 features car-like unibody construction, unlike the more rugged, body-on-frame Tank 300 it shares showroom space with, the new mid-size SUV features a locking rear differential.
Every member of the Haval H7 lineup also comes with a full-size spare wheel.
While there’s just one body style for now, the Haval H7 lineup will be expanded in 2027 with an extended-length version boasting a third row of seating.

Drivetrains and Efficiency
The GWM Haval H7 features four-wheel independent suspension, with MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link configuration at the rear.

GWM doesn’t publish charging rates for the PHEV, but says it can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in 19 minutes. The PHEV also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing you to power small appliances at up to 6kW.
Total combined range for the PHEV is a claimed 844km under WLTP testing.
