“The horizon took me completely awestruck. I’d seen a lot of mountain ranges before, in the Alps, Scotland, Albania, Spain, but I’d never seen this much depth of mountains. Peaks as far as the eye could see. As the sky turned pink, setting behind Whistler Mountain’s iconic Inuit statue, Inukshuk, I looked around our group, who were all smiling with gratitude, and I had to pinch myself that I have found myself in such a unique, once-in-a-lifetime situation.”
These are the memories of our editor Will Renwick following his attendance at Helly Hansen’s Summit Sleepover at Whistler Mountain, an event that offers a rare opportunity to spend the night on one of North America’s most iconic mountains after the lifts have stopped turning and the crowds have gone home.

This adventure starts with 360 Experience Sightseeing tickets before you get seats for dinner at the Mountain Top Summer Fest, taking place in Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia, Canada on August 15-16, 2026. Guests will then head up the stable to the top of Whistler Mountain for a sunset performance by a local musician. And at the end of the day, there’s the unique opportunity to go wild camping on Whistler.
The experience does not end here. Wake up to sunrise over the Coast Mountains, participate in an optional morning yoga session and, to top it all, each winner will receive a $500 Helly Hansen gear package to help prepare for future adventures.

The contest ends on July 17 at 11:59pm PDT, with the ten winners contacted directly by Helly Hansen. Winners will have to arrange their own transportation to Whistler, provide their own camping equipment, while all food and drinks and activities included as part of the summit sleepover will be covered by Helly Hansen. Participation in each activity is optional for both the winners and their chosen guest.
