The written word still matters a lot (unless you work in the C-suite), but cars are much more than ideas. They’re physical objects, and because of this, it’s always nice to see with your own eyes what someone is talking about. That’s why we add photos to our posts. Well, that, and the fact that we’re an ad-supported site, and for some reason, people don’t like to click on image-free posts. Regardless, video reviews aren’t just for cars, so it’s no surprise that you can find so many car review channels on YouTube.
Sure, you can find plenty of videos posted by big sites and buff books, but anyone with a data connection now has far more access than the few channels with big budgets and high production values. Of course, the flip side of this is that anyone with a phone can record their thoughts and put them on the Internet, whether those thoughts are worth listening to or not. Or maybe their videos are okay, but their review style isn’t for you. it happens.

Normally, QOTD gets a lot of comments when we’re negative, but complaining about creators whose channels we don’t enjoy feels unnecessary and mean. Instead, let’s try to be positive for change and focus on the channels you default to when looking for car reviews. Lesser known channels you secretly love. Reviewers whose priorities exactly match yours. Let’s talk about those channels and reviewers.
Also, since I’m an idiot who wants to see you get a little creative, I’ll go ahead and remove John Davis from the board. He’s an automotive hero, a longtime supporter of public television, an NC State graduate (which means a lot in my family), and perhaps most importantly, he’s more than a little outspoken. he is John Davis. Now go ahead and let us know in the comments who else you like to see for car reviews.
