The rods are built on 2-piece 24/30-ton composite blanks with Powerlux, to have the ideal balance between power and sensitivity to handle heavy surf and long casts. The guides on the rods are Fuji K-Frame guides, featuring durable Alconite inserts for better line management, reducing line friction and increasing casting distance. The split in these two-piece surf rods is a carefully engineered 70/30 split design, with the butt section making up 30 percent of the rod’s length and the guides running along 70 percent of the section. This ensures optimal action and response even with a 2-piece blank while giving the advantage of being easy to transport.

Van Staal VSX2 rods are available now with an MSRP ranging from $499.95-$649.95 depending on the model of the rods. Six different rod models are available ranging from 8 feet to 11 feet in length.
