Arc’teryx Norvan Downward Logo Shirt, from $72 (was $90)
Why do we like this deal?
REI’s 4th of July Deals event will be live through July 6, offering up to 60% off a ton of outdoor gear and apparel. Even brands like Arc’teryx that rarely offer discounts are getting in on the action with deals on their popular jackets, hiking packs, and even the brand’s moisture-wicking running shirts.
The $90 Arc’teryx Norvan Downward Logo Shirt is now only $72 at REI. The only colorway on sale is the Mantis/Tatsu option presented here, but all sizes are available at the time of writing. It’s one of many pieces in the Norvan collection, but is a versatile piece that’s perfect for running, hiking, working out, and escaping the heat.

What shoppers need to know
- Material: Plastic FL Recycled Polyester Body with Ultralight Delta Mesh Back Panel, 100% Polyester, Fabric from Japan
- Construction: Merrow seam and laminated collar/hem, articulated patterning, split side hem
- Suitable: athletic trail cut
- Care: Machine wash gently, tumble dry low
- Best for: Long hill races, trail ultras, high-output races in variable light, under hydration vests, general outdoor use
The Downward is made from Fasque FL, the brand’s stretch and moisture-wicking polyester with an antimicrobial finish, and features an ultralight Delta mesh back panel that wicks away heat. In addition to best-in-class moisture management, one of the biggest features is that the articulated cut keeps hydration under the vest, making this a great shirt for long runs. It’s designed with reflective details for low-light workouts, and comes in at just 85 grams.
Arc’s Norvan collection was (and still is) designed specifically for trail running and mountain activities, and has become one of the most respected lineups in the outdoors. Arc’teryx fans, and many outdoor gear fans in general, regard the Norvan line as the baseline for how technical trail gear should fit and function. This situation commands high prices and rare discounts, so although 20% off may not seem like much, it is in this case.

what shoppers are saying
The reviews on REI’s site are pretty light, but there’s a lot more to see in Arc’teryx. One reviewer wrote, “Perfect for me, because I sweat a lot. I use it for hiking, and it feels very light and comfortable.” A second buyer wrote that it’s “the perfect shirt for running.”
The moisture wicking abilities are a major draw: “They are my first choice for any outdoor or physical activity – especially ones where I’ll be sweating due to their exceptional wicking abilities.”
Even with this $72 sale price, the Arc’teryx Norvan Downward Logo Shirt is still expensive for an athletic shirt, but think of it as an investment in comfort rather than just another piece of clothing.
