The former Long Island home of one of America’s most notorious serial killers has been sold after three months on the market.
talking to newsday (h/t New York Post), real estate agent Mark Kaplan of Pinpoint Realty announced that the former home of convicted serial killer Joel Rifkin in East Meadow, Long Island has been sold.
This house on Garden Street was built in 1951 realtor.comRifkin was living in an East Meadow home with his mother and sister when he committed several murders.
“This is a great buyer for the property,” Kaplan told Newsday. “They’re very excited.”
The four-bedroom house has two bathrooms, a swimming pool and is spread over 1,675 square feet. According to Realtor.com, the home was initially listed for $825,000 in April. The previous owners purchased it in 2011 for $322,000.
Rifkin, who was convicted in 1994, is serving a 203-year prison sentence for nine murders over a four-year period from 1989 to 1993. He confessed to killing 17 women.

Ultimately all it took was one careless mistake by Rifkin to end his reign of terror.
Two New York State troopers instruct Rifkin to retreat In the early hours of June 28, 1993, for driving without a rear license plate on his pickup truck. Rifkin ignored orders and drove off, but his escape attempt ended when he inadvertently crashed into a light pole.
After arresting Rifkin, police found the body of 22-year-old Tiffany Bresciani in his pickup truck. Investigators continued to investigate Rifkin and soon realized that they had taken a serial killer off the streets.
