Tenet Transportation Tech recently merged with Crown Data Systems, combining Tenet’s carrier operations software with Crown’s airfreight trucking software business. The companies said the combined organization serves more than 400 customers and partners in the United States and Canada.
According to a release, the merged company will support cartage, expedited, courier, drayage and less-than-truckload operations. It will operate out of offices in Buffalo, NY and Atlanta.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with (President) Mike (King) and the Crown team, as well as their customers and partners,” said Hugh Kirkpatrick, CEO of Tenet. “Mike is a visionary entrepreneur with a career spanning more than 50 years in trucking and technology, and Crown’s decades of experience, customer-focused mission and trusted relationships are a perfect complement to Tenet.”
King said the deal is in line with Crown’s approach to product development. He said, “Crown was founded on innovation. We solved inefficiencies in our business and changed the market. That’s our legacy.” “I see the same innovation in Tenet, helping us expand our legacy into the future with the best solutions and service in the industry.”
Miami-based Tenet said its platform includes dispatching, driver mobile apps, warehouse operations, freight scanning, invoicing and reporting across first, middle and last-mile carrier operations.
The companies said Kirkpatrick will lead the combined company as CEO. King will remain chairman of Crown before transitioning to the role of strategic advisor.
Crown was founded by King in 1997 in Buffalo and began as a rating, dispatching and invoicing system he created for his own business, the release said. The companies said the merger brings together more than 40 employees and expands resources, including a broader partner network.
