talkSPORT, the home of live sport and even livelier opinion, today announces the launch of Howler, a brand-new comedy visualised podcast dedicated to celebrating football’s most legendary fails, funny blunders and off-pitch disasters.
Co-hosted by comedian Matt Lucas and talkSPORT presenter Jason Cundy, Howler will drop every Tuesday and Thursday across all major podcast platforms, YouTube and the talkSPORT app for the next 20 weeks.
In a sport often dominated by tactical perfection and serious analysis, Howler takes a completely different approach, giving the biggest icons from the football world a platform to laugh at their worst moments – and sharing how they got through them.

Each main episode dives into embarrassing pitch errors, dressing room chaos, and infamous career blunders, while companion podcast No Balls Allowed will drop on Thursdays, where the guests are allowed to talk about anything, as long as it’s not football.
The first episode, released on Tuesday 10th November, will feature former England and Arsenal goalkeeper – and all-round legend – David Seaman, who discusses falling out with teammate Patrick Vieira over a slap, his questionable England kits over the years and his proudest single moment out of all his 75 caps for the national team.
In Seaman’s No Balls Allowed episode, he speaks to his love of fishing, shares where he keeps his signature ponytail, and reveals the exact moment he realised his surname was a homophone for a bodily fluid.
Howler’s debut season boasts an all-star lineup
Howler’s debut season boasts an all-star lineup of guests, including Charlie Austin, Stiliyan Petrov, Alan Curbishley, Fara Williams, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Steve Bruce, Lee Dixon, Gabby Agbonlahor, Emmanuel Petit and Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock.
Lucas said: “I am an avid listener to The Sports Bar, and so the chance to co-host a podcast with the great Jason Cundy was something I leapt at. It’s been fascinating meeting some of the game’s finest ex-pros, and finding out how they managed to overcome their greatest challenges.”
Abi Paterson, talkSPORT’s Head of Podcasts, said: “There’s a fine line between laughing at someone and laughing with them, and Matt and Jason hit that sweet spot effortlessly. Their natural warmth makes guests feel completely safe to pull back the curtain and share those moments they’d rather forget. When we get to No Balls Allowed, that’s when the guests really come into their own and you never quite know where the conversation will go.”
