An update has emerged on the contract status of Sheamus, who left WWE earlier this month after rejecting the offer of a restructured deal.
On July 5, news came that Sheamus was leaving WWE after being in the company for 20 years. Five days later, the three-time WWE Champion and future Hall of Famer confirmed his exit. Instagram.
In an update, conflicted selection (h/t wrestlinginc.com) reports that Sheamus is under contract until October 1. After that, he will become a free agent and will be free to sign with another promotion. Fightful said it was unclear why Sheamus did not immediately become a free agent.
Typically, WWE Superstars are required to work under a non-compete clause only if they are outright released from their contract. At any rate, the bottom line is that “The Celtic Warrior” is finished in WWE and is ready for the next chapter of his career.

When all is said and done, Sheamus will earn his place in the WWE Hall of Fame. It’s just a matter of when, not if.
During his 17 years on the main roster, Sheamus won three WWE Championships, a World Heavyweight Championship, the 2010 King of the Ring tournament, the 2012 Royal Rumble, and the 2015 Money in the Bank ladder match.
The only thing keeping Sheamus away from the WWE Grand Slam club is the Intercontinental Championship. Nevertheless, his place in the Hall of Fame is almost certain.
