An announcement from his family On their official Instagram page “It is with great sadness that Sam Neill’s whānau (extended family) share the news of his passing in Sydney, Australia on Monday, July 13,” it said.

In March 2023, the New Zealand actor publicly revealed that he was undergoing treatment for stage 3 angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, which he had been diagnosed with the previous year.
