Ryobi One+ 18V 6-Tool Set, $260 (was $342)
Why is this a big deal?
A while ago, I reported on a big drop in the price of Craftsman’s 7-Tool V20 Set, a very handy collection of power tools, which was listed for less than $300 at the time; It was a theft. But can the value be pushed further? Obviously, the answer is yes: Ryobi has a similar set at Walmart that proves it.
The Ryobi One+ 18V 6-Tool Set is currently priced at just $260, down from $342, and it’s packed with value and gear beyond the name. If you’re comparison shopping and you’re disappointed by DeWalt’s nearly $600 5-tool set or Milwaukee’s $725 6-tool set, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the thoroughness of this kit. Here, I’ll explain who this set is for and why it’s worth it for the price.

What shoppers need to know
- Equipment included: Drill/Driver, Impact Driver, Circular Saw, Reciprocating Saw, Multi-Tool, LED Light
- Accessories included: Tool bag, 4.0 Ah battery, 1.5 Ah battery, battery charger, 18T carbide blade, hex wrench, reciprocating saw blade, hex key, flush cut blade, plunge cut blade, wood blade, sanding pad, 5 x pieces of sandpaper
- Best for: For those who want a high value, super complete kit.
This kit is loaded with value in a way that not everyone has. In addition to the five main tools and an LED work light, you’ll also get batteries, a charger, a bag, and plenty of key accessories. Tools are essential for both household work and building construction, with a fine drill, standard circular saw and multi-tool for deep cutting obviously standing out. You also get a ton of blades and accessories here, including some you might not expect, like a plunge cut blade and a collection of sanding pads.
I also really like the fact that you get both a 4.0Ah and 1.5Ah battery. Most kits, especially at this price, just put in a 2.0Ah battery and give you two batteries a day, if they’re particularly generous. Use a 4.0Ah battery for larger, power-consuming tools such as circular saws and reciprocating saws. The 1.5Ah is good for when you need some finesse with the drill, when your 4.0Ah runs out but you want to keep working, and use the LED work light in conjunction with your main tools. This set has amazing versatility.

You’re clearly getting a lot of stuff here, and there’s definitely something to be said about the convenience of getting all these pieces in one order from the same retailer, with no shipping, and arriving at the same time. But what about the price? men’s journal Prices of key commodities examined at the time of writing:
- Ryobi 18V One+ Drill/Driver (PCL206), $49 at Walmart
- Ryobi 18V One+ Impact Driver (PCL235), $40 at Walmart
- Ryobi 18V One+ Circular Saw (PCL500), $35 at Amazon (was $42)
- Ryobi 18V One+ Reciprocating Saw (PCL515), $55 at Walmart
- Ryobi 18V One+ Multi-Tool (PCL430), $54 at Amazon
- Ryobi 18V One+ LED Light (PCL660), $17 at Walmart
The total amount comes to $250, which is only $10 less than the set that includes the bag, battery, charger, and accessories. None of these items include batteries. Also note that, despite our best efforts to get them from Walmart for convenience’s sake, it was practically impossible as the circular saw and multi-tool both cost over $100, so they had to be found on Amazon.
