Science correspondent Nicola Davies investigates the strange story of Tam O’Byrne and his attempts to grow tea in Scotland.
In the first episode of this miniseries, first broadcast in October 2025, Nicola recalls her first meeting with O’Byrne while working on a feature about tea plantations in the UK. He was selling his award-winning Scottish-made tea in some of Britain’s finest hotels, but without much success. And Nicola wasn’t the only person interested in their story.
