Do women really want nice guys?
It is a common thing that many women like to go after bad boys. They say, nice people finish last. But is this really true? How do real, actual women feel about nice guys in the year 2026?
Blaine Anderson, A former travel industry employee turns dating coachhas just outlined the real, hard truth for the good guys. She’s made it clear that yes, being seen as a “nice guy” can be a negative in the dating world. But it’s not quite what you think. This thinking has its own levels.
Professional dating coaches have made it clear: The problem with “nice guys” is that they don’t appear confident. Meanwhile, the “bad boys” come across as men who know what they want. And she is attractive.

Anderson outlined his thought process in a new video posted to his Instagram account @datingbyblaineWhere she shares a lot of dating and relationship tips.
Professional dating coaches have made it clear that women don’t want a “bad guy” who treats them badly. Instead, they want a “good boy” who appears to be confident, strong, and protective, just like a “bad boy” in many ways.
“Don’t get things twisted: quality, and emotionally mature women don’t want a guy who treats them (expletive)! However, they want a confident man who has standards, boundaries, and who doesn’t completely fall in love with anyone. Guys who are so nice and cool will always be in first place. Trust me,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Men seem to agree, but it may be hard
Dating coach Matt McKinney shared in the comments section, “Such an important message. Men are so confused because they find themselves trying to cater to unsuspecting women who are only looking for validation and emotional triggers, not a peaceful loving relationship.”
Another person shared, “Don’t be nice, be nice. You are not a door mat, set boundaries and enforce them. Understand that you are the reward. Never feel like you are beneath them. Be confident in yourself.”
Dating in 2026 can be difficult, with the limitless amount of options often creating an intimidation of choice, but Anderson is doing his best to help everyone out right now.
