News: There’s a new take on the 2027 Ram 1500 V8 Rebel off-road truck by Roush, but it has no supercharger

Roush is teaming up with Ram to offer this 2027 Ram 1500 V8 by Roush. This is a new 5.7L HEMI V8-powered pickup with suspension, exhaust and appearance updates. If you’re used to supercharging everything, you might be sad to know that it doesn’t offer a supercharger. However, it is a bit more affordable compared with other RAM Direct Connection Supercharged offerings. Let’s dig!

Direct Connection is a name for Ram’s performance parts division that owners or companies can use or integrate to customize their trucks.

This package starts as a 2027 Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4. It adds the Level 2 equipment package. Next, the Roush team goes to work adding a specially tuned coil-over front suspension. This gives the truck a slight suspension lift and a different ride quality over rougher stuff. Roush has added 33-inch General Grabber A/TX all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels. This is almost the same height and stance that a new Ram 1500 Rebel offers.

You won’t mistake this truck for a new Rebel because of the Raptor-style amber clearance lights in the grille and fender flares. The truck looks attractive with a front bumper matching the body color. Roush says adaptive cruise and all other ADAS features are unaffected. Payload and towing specs are also unaffected.

The 5.7L HEMI V8 is rated at 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. This is the same as any new RAM 1500. The Roush version is equipped with an active exhaust system that can be configured to sound quieter or louder depending on your preference.

Customized interior is also available in this package. Take a look at the images below.

The total cost of the Roush package is $15,995 and the truck you see here is priced at $78,960.

While we’re talking about these DirectConnection trucks, here’s a video about a supercharged Ram 1500 street truck built in collaboration with the Fox factory. It is rated at 650 horse power.
