News: If You Flip a New 2027 Ram TRX, the Next Owner Loses the Factory Warranty

If you buy a new 2027 Ram TRX and sell it within the first year, the next owner loses the truck’s factory warranty. If you turn it over, you lose it. This policy is to discourage a quick sale of this new desirable truck. However, this may also have unintended consequences. Here are all the details. Let’s dig!

If you resell a new TRX within the first 12 months, the next owner will no longer have the basic and powertrain warranties. Ram hopes this will discourage people who want to make a quick buck on these new trucks. However, life circumstances are unpredictable and the sale of the truck may become necessary.

Here is an official statement from RAM Trucks.

We’re excited to put the 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT into the hands of enthusiasts. To help protect the integrity and availability of the new TRX SRT, Ram is updating the TRX SRT warranty and ownership terms to prevent speculators and markups.

Under the TRX SRT Warranty and Ownership Terms, if the original purchaser sells or transfers the vehicle within the first 12 months of ownership, any remaining Basic and Powertrain Warranty coverage will become non-transferable and will expire to the extent permitted by law.

The original purchaser is responsible for disclosing the TRX SRT warranty and ownership terms to any subsequent purchaser.

Dealership sales personnel will review the TRX SRT warranty and ownership terms upon vehicle delivery. Customers who do not confirm that their dealership sales personnel have reviewed the TRX SRT warranty and ownership terms with them will receive follow-up communication from Ram.

Recalls and emissions warranty coverage will not be affected.
