DC Studios’ “Clayface” is a horror thriller from director James Watkins, starring Tom Rhys Harris in the title role of the cult favorite villain of Gotham’s rogues gallery.
Matt Hagen’s meteoric rise from Gotham Street kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when the actions of a local crime boss leave him tragically disfigured.
Abandoned by his team and left with nothing, Matt searches for a cutting-edge treatment that will miraculously return him to his former self… but also unexpectedly strain his grip on reality, setting him on a destructive path of all-consuming vengeance.
The film stars Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan as well as Nancy Carroll and Joshua James.
James Watkins directs from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, based on the DC characters from a story by Flanagan. The film is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran, while Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Vinther, Raffi Krohn, and Paul Ritchie are executive producers.
Watkins’ creative team included director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor John Harris, and costume designer Keith Madden. Music by Volker Bertelmann.
DC Studios Sixth & Idaho Productions presents the James Watkins film, “Clayface”. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be released in theaters only in North America on October 23, 2026, and internationally on October 21, 2026.
