Mahindra BE 07 will rival the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7
India launch in first half of 2027

Mahindra & Mahindra recently confirmed three new model launches in the first half of 2027. The upcoming lineup is likely to include the production-ready versions of the Mahindra Vision S, based on the NU_IQ platform, and Mahindra BE 07, built on the INGLO architecture, along with the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyer pickup truck. The Mahindra BE 07 is one of the much-anticipated upcoming electric SUVs of the next year, targeting modern family buyers.

In the premium electric SUV segment, the BE 07 will be positioned against the Mahindra XEV 9e, Tata Harrier EV, Vinfast VF7 and BYD Atto 3. The EV is likely to be priced around Rs 25 lakh for the base variant, while the top trim could cost around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Modern Design

First unveiled as a concept in August 2022, the Mahindra BE 07 will feature a more upright and SUV-ish stance, unlike the coupe-inspired silhouette of the BE 6. Multiple spy images suggest that the electric SUV will carry a squared-off front fascia, featuring a large closed-off grille, vertically positioned headlamps and signature C-shaped LED DRLs.

Other design highlights will include aero-dynamically designed alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, pronounced wheel arch cladding, camera-equipped ORVMs, pronounced roof spoiler and C-shaped LED taillamps. In terms of dimensions, the production-ready BE 07 is expected to measure similar to the concept, which was 4,565mm long, 1,900mm wide and 1,660mm tall. The concept has a wheelbase of 2,775mm.

Technology-Focused Interior

Interior of the upcoming Mahindra BE 07 is likely to be tech-laden a triple screen setup, compromising a larger central touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and a dedicated passenger-side display.

The electric SUV could also be offered with a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo, a floating centre console, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, a large glass roof, minimalist dashboard design, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, dual wireless charging pads, a premium audio system, electrically adjustable front seats, a powered tailgate, Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags and many more.

Sharing Powertrain With BE 6?

Based on the INGLO platform, the Mahindra BE 07 is expected to share its powertrain with the BE 6, which is currently available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery pack options. The 59kWh battery version offers a claimed MIDC range of 573km, while the 70kWh and 79kWh variants deliver 651km and 708km, respectively.

The BE 6 is exclusively offered with the rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration. It supports three types of charging – portable AC charging, AC wallbox charging and DC fast charging. However, the BE 07’s battery options, drivetrain configuration, charging capabilities and claimed driving range are yet to be announced by Mahindra.
