LEGO and Ducati have expanded their long-standing partnership with the launch of a new Technic model based on the Desmo450 MX, the first production Motocross motorcycle in Ducati history. The new building set brings the Italian manufacturer’s off-road machines to the Technic range with a detailed recreation of the factory racing bike.
Carrying the LEGO Technic reference 42238, the set includes 457 pieces and is recommended for builders aged 10 and up. Functional highlights include handlebar-operated steering, independent front and rear suspension, and a working replica of a single-cylinder engine driven by a chain attached to the rear wheel.

The Desmo450 MX follows previous Lego Ducati collaborations, including the Panigale V4 R. The actual motorcycle marks Ducati’s official entry into the global Motocross segment, combining the company’s signature Desmodromic Valve System with an engine producing 46.7 kW (63.5 hp).
The LEGO Technic Ducati Desmo450 MX will go on sale internationally from August 1, with an estimated retail price of €60, offering Ducati enthusiasts and LEGO collectors another highly detailed model to add to their collections.

Why does this collaboration matter?
By choosing the Desmo450 MX for its latest Technic release, LEGO highlights one of Ducati’s most important recent projects. The model celebrates the Italian brand’s arrival in Motocross, while also giving fans a collectible item that combines mechanical authenticity with the practical build experience that defines the Technical range.
