Manolo Blahnik and Khepri Jewels met in a bejeweled celebration last night at the Manolo Blahnik boutique on Madison Ave. The night was hosted by music executive, Charlie Walk in celebration of “The Timeless Man.” Guests milled around the store, trying on pieces from both brands’ new collections.
Khepri’s new men’s collection features rings, bracelets, and necklaces set with black and grey diamonds on black rhodium-plated sterling silver. From Manolo Blahnik, a new men’s collection worked with the idea of timelessness. The style is contemporary but nothing too trendy. The Witney, one of the main attractions, is a simple oxford with a cap toe. The Hawick has an outdoorsy feel, made from suede with stitch detailing and a shoelace tie. The Carlton is explicitly in the classic Manolo style, with a dramatic jewel buckle. The Mario is a toned-down version of this in plain black velvet. The collection seems to have something for everyone.

Manolo Blahnik’s new women’s collection drew this writer’s eye…for investigative purposes only. The new styles seemed to incorporate a theme of suede. The Hironu and Vivés ankle boots and Coti flat pump each feature a row of buttons against blue suede. Another table was covered in each color of the Maysli style imaginable, all suede. It’s a style that modernizes the classic buckle detail the brand is so known for. Other styles used fringe, beading, satin, and crystal embellishment. In short, it was shoe heaven.
