Mountain Hardwear’s Mineral King 3 All-Season is an excellent choice for camping in all weather conditions. Weighing in at 6 pounds, 11 ounces and costing $600, this tent is made of high-quality materials that are relatively lightweight so it’s not cumbersome to carry, with solid fittings and attachments, good ventilation, and effortless set up and breakdown. While it’s not suitable for a full-on, deep winter expedition, it will help you get through the occasional spring or fall snowstorm, as well as rain, wind, and more.
Mountain Hardwear Mineral King 3 First Impressions
I don’t feel like I’m trapped when I’m outside. And thanks to the Mineral King 3’s huge mesh doors, I didn’t. Turn the vestibule back, and you’ll get not only a breath of air, but also a view. And, in bug-free areas, mesh doors also roll back. When the vestibules are closed with a zipper, the holes in each keep air flowing. The bathtub-style tent also has mesh installed on the top for maximum airflow.

The tent is easy to set up. The primary poles are attached to a hub that is attached to the top of the tent. They are already primed to give this text maximum internal headroom.
One of my favorite details of the Mineral King 3 All Season is the stationary cord that runs along the ceiling for hanging clothes, lights, and anything else you want out of the way and still keeping an eye on. When the tent is tightened it provides some stability to the tent even in windy conditions. No matter which side you sleep in, five pockets expand storage options. This latest version of the Mineral King 3 is symmetrical making it easier to lean from head to toe or head to head.
Not every camper will push the boundaries of the season. If you know you won’t be camping when you might have snow on you, Mountain Hardwear also makes the Mineral King 3. It doesn’t have winter chops, weighs a little less, and the $400 pricetag reflects that.
