test methods
My daughter has worn this dress around town, fishing, and hanging out since late spring and early summer. Wearing it, she chased her younger brother and cousins into the yard and sat in the car for a few hours.
Fit, Size, and First Impressions
My daughter thought the HUK sandbar dress was beautiful at first glance, and the color was also nice. She ordered a small (which is her normal size), and it fits fine, but it’s a little baggy on her small frame, so we should have ordered an extra small. She likes the soft, stretchy feel because it’s really comfortable to wear for long periods of time

Performance during active use
The stretchy material doesn’t limit her activities, whether she’s bending over to pick up her little brother or chasing him around the yard. He has even worked out in it many times without any restrictions. As a dad, I like built-in shorts because I know that even if the wind lifts her dress, she’ll still be covered. I don’t even have to worry about it climbing up and exposing her underwear. HUK did a great job designing it for active use.

Durability, materials and build quality
After several uses and washings, the material holds up very well. The stitching isn’t frayed, and the color isn’t faded. She should get more use out of it this summer, and if she stops growing, for the next several years. I suspect she will continue to grow into it and will like this dress even more when she wears it.

Comfort, ergonomics and all-day wearability
My daughter says the only reason it’s a little uncomfortable is because it’s too big, so if we had ordered the XS, it would have been the right size and very comfortable. She doesn’t sweat often, and this light, breathable dress doesn’t make her sweat any more than usual. The way the dress stretches and moves with her ensures that it doesn’t rub awkwardly. She also likes pockets to keep her phone or keys safe. However, his biggest frustration is when he needs to use the toilet. Although it has an open-back waistband for easy bathroom access, my daughter says it’s not that easy. It is easy for her to take off her dress to go to the toilet, which is really annoying.

Who is it for / Who should leave it
Any woman leading an active lifestyle should find this dress comfortable and well-designed. My daughter may be very picky about her clothes, but she also has some major disappointments/disappointments.
Value and price-to-performance
At $90 MSRP, its price isn’t ridiculous, but it’s not cheap either. At first glance, my daughter and I both thought she would love this costume, but the design isn’t as practical as we expected. Much of her frustration stems from the dress being too big (even though she wears adult small dresses in everything else). If it fit better, she would be happier with it, but she still has time to grow into it, and if she does, I’m sure she’ll love it. Other HUK gear (HUK Storm Jacket 2.0) that I’ve tested has performed very well.

Verdict: HUK Sandbar Dress Review
After wearing the HUK Sandbar Dress for a while, my daughter doesn’t want another dress, but still thinks it’s comfortable and great for outdoor activities. She would appreciate more adjustability in the dress or, at least, would like an easier way to remove it to go to the toilet. Overall, HUK has designed a great costume that falls a little short in the real world.
