Harry Styles’ $150 tour sunglasses work for non-pop stars too

Harry Styles' $150 tour sunglasses work for non-pop stars too

After kicking off his Together, Together Tour with a massive 10 shows in Amsterdam, Harry Styles is finally back on home turf. On Friday, the British artist took to Wembley Stadium for the first of 12 London dates and performed to more than 90,000 fans. And while most people were (rightly) focusing on the music, we were busy staring at its shades.

Over the years, Styles has created a distinctive collection of sunnies, replete with grails from the likes of Jacques Marie Mage, Thistles, and Oakley. But at Wembley, he went for a pair of wraparounds that Bono would be proud of: Brooklyn by Parisian eyewear brand Jimmy Fairley.

Brooklyn is the classic version of Jimmy Fairley aviator. The lenses are big and puffy and a 70s orange color. In contrast, the arms are smooth and shapely, attached via two small screws at each temple. This is the type of frame that works especially well on medium to large face shapes. And because it’s made from lightweight stainless steel, it’s also built to take a bit of a beating — which is useful, considering Styles launched them onto the stage floor in the middle of the show and they came out completely unharmed.

If Jimmy Fairley sounds familiar, that’s because this isn’t Styles’ first rodeo with the label. Earlier this year, during the “Aperture” singer’s blockbuster Brit Awards performance, all of her backup dancers came out wearing the brand’s Ella silhouette. Obviously, there is some fan in his team.

Meanwhile, the rest of Styles came courtesy of Wembley Fit SS Deli. The musician has been one of Steven Stokey-Daley’s biggest champions for many years, and also owns a minority stake in the company. On stage, he paired a light blue silk shirt with a black and white pinstripe wool jacket. Underneath was a square neck, racer-back vest that featured artwork inspired by a photographic series documenting Northern British home interiors during the 70s and 80s.

While the setlist for the next 11 Wembley dates will likely remain largely the same, Styles’s eyewear rotation almost certainly won’t. And if the first night is about to pass, we’re already looking forward to seeing how many more looks he shows off before moving on to the next city on the tour.
