According to multiple sources, including Sportitalia, Sky Sport Italia and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal has now been fully agreed, with the transfer fee amounting to €12 million upfront and an additional €2 million based on performance-related bonuses.
Gaetano’s journey to this crucial moment has been marked by steady progression through Italian football. A product of the Napoli youth system, he gained vital experience during loan spells at Cremonese and Cagliari. His performances in Sardinia convinced Cagliari to make his move permanent for €6.2 million last June.
Last season, Gaetano emerged as one of Cagliari’s standout performers, appearing in 35 matches in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. He contributed two goals and four assists, underscoring his creative influence in midfield and his ability to make a solid impact in high-pressure situations.
