In recent weeks, speculation has run rampant about WWE looking to land a former world champion from a rival promotion.
Last month, TNA Wrestling parted ways with four of its former world champions: Mike Santana, Sami Callihan, Tessa Blanchard and Steve Macklin. Additionally, the company moved on from wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer.
A recent report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select WWE was said to be interested in Santana and the company would “like to add him to the main roster by the end of the year if they can.”
On Wednesday, Santana posted a cryptic message on X that read, “7/15.”

Some fans think Santana was revealing his free agency date and when he would be available to sign elsewhere. Of course, rival AEW promotion is also running weekly gunpowder Event in Boston, Massachusetts.
We’ll have to wait and see if anything noteworthy happens with Santana next Wednesday. It is worth noting that, because he was not directly released from TNA, Santana is not subject to a non-compete clause and is free to sign anywhere.

Last year, Santana made several appearances for rival promotions. This included a match at the October 7 NXT vs. TNA Showdown, where he led Team TNA (Moose, Leon Slater and Frankie Kazarian) to a victory over Team NXT (Trick Williams, Javon Evans, Miles Bourne and Ricky Saints).
