Recently published behind-the-scenes footage of the sequel – which is currently shooting in Atlanta – appears to tease quite the spectacle for the 2027 film.
The photos hint at a showdown between Superman and arch-rival Lex Luthor, played by a bald-headed Nicholas Hoult. It appears that Holt’s Luthor has upgraded his business casual look to get ready for battle by donning the comics villain’s iconic battle suit. Superman’s outfit looks largely the same as his outfit from the first film, with one small change: his hair. It appears that our hero is in the early stages of developing a mullet.

The baby mullet has been on the heads of many people these days, from musicians to actors to that guy working in that fashion you keep seeing at the bar. And these pictures prove that even fictional characters are not untouched by this.
Now, don’t think this is a solution to getting the residents of Dimes Square into seats man of tomorrow comes out. Superman with a mullet has his roots in comics, made famous in 1993 during the “Reign of the Supermen” storyline, which followed the “Death of Superman” arc. The nape-grazing locks got their time to shine for three years, and they made their on-screen debut in 1998 in the nixed Tim Burton Superman film, which saw Nicolas Cage in the lead role. Cage’s CGI version of Superman makes a cameo in 2023 shineWho was panned for falling into the uncanny valley, but appears to be carrying a torch made of a very real Corenswet tile.
Gunn’s status as a certified comic book expert leads us to think he knows Absolutely What’s he doing with Superman’s mane and might just take a page (or two) from the comics man of tomorrow. After all, the director has a reputation for following Vidya till the last hair follicle.
