The grid remains together, and MotoGP has secured the foundations for its next era. On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the MotoGP Groups and all 11 teams of the championship signed agreements governing their participation in the FIM MotoGP World Championship from 2027 to 2031. It’s a massive display of unity that brings the game’s biggest players locked into a shared long-term vision at a crucial moment.
Time is not an accident. Following MotoGP’s recently confirmed agreement with the manufacturers, these teams complete the full governance and commercial structure for the period 2027 to 2031. In other words, the blueprint for the future of the championship is now fully in place, with every key stakeholder signing on the dotted line.
The full roster of 11 committed teams graces the modern paddock: Aprilia Racing, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP, Ducati Lenovo Team, Honda HRC Castrol, LCR Honda, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Red Bull KTM Tech3 and Superfile Trackhouse MotoGP Team. Together they form the backbone of the Championship as it prepares to enter a bold new chapter under the 2027 regulations.
These agreements do more than seal the status quo. They reaffirm the teams’ long-term partnership and set a strong platform for the next phase of the game. The shared ambition of MotoGP, the teams, manufacturers and the FIM is clear: to strengthen the championship, enhance the fan experience and drive continued global growth. By strengthening the role of teams as central stakeholders, the new framework provides the kind of certainty that encourages greater investment in the pillars that matter most, namely performance, fan engagement and commercial opportunities.
Importantly, the deal recognizes the value of preserving 11 similar teams, each of which has its own distinct identity, story and brand. That diversity is what makes the championship dynamic and unpredictable, and the framework leans into it rather than flattening it. On top of that there are extended promotional and marketing commitments across the entire paddock, designed to boost the profile of the teams, riders and championships on the world stage. By increasing the visibility and individuality of each organisation, MotoGP aims to build deeper connections with fans and unlock new commercial growth across all its markets.
For MotoGP Group CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, the signing represents a significant moment for the sport. “Signing this agreement with the teams is a defining moment for MotoGP, establishing the framework that will guide the championship until at least 2031. Together with the manufacturers, the FIM and stakeholders across the paddock, we have built a strong foundation for the next era of the sport.”
Emphasis was placed on the stability the deal provides and the identities each team brings to the table, he added. “This agreement provides greater stability for the teams while strengthening their central role within the championship. We are proud of the 11 teams, each of which has a distinct identity and contribution to MotoGP. Combined with increased promotional commitments, it will bring fans closer to the action and strengthen the global appeal of the sport.”
Ezpeleta also expressed his gratitude for the spirit that drove the negotiations forward. “I would like to thank the teams for their cooperation and creative approach throughout this process. We have a clear ambition: to provide the best and safest racing in the world, growing our global audience and creating even more value for fans, partners and stakeholders.”
On behalf of the teams, IRTA President Lucio Cecchinello reiterated the optimism, calling the deal a huge leap forward that also sets the stage for what is to come. “I am very pleased to confirm that all MotoGP teams have reached an agreement with MotoGP Group for the period 2027-2031, also laying the foundation for future renewals beyond that period.”
He emphasized the stability and resources unlocked by the agreement for each team on the grid. “This agreement represents a very important step forward, providing all teams with the stability, confidence and resources needed to continue investing in the Championship through long-term, high-level sporting projects.”
Cecchinello concluded by acknowledging the effort and goodwill that defined this process. “I want to sincerely thank the MotoGP Group, Carmelo Ezpeleta, Carlos Ezpeleta and all the teams for the constructive spirit shown throughout the discussions. The process required time, attention and responsibility from all parties, but without a doubt the end result is extremely positive for the future of our sport and for the world-class entertainment MotoGP continues to provide.”
The message resonating from the enclosure is one of confidence and unity. With manufacturers, teams and governing bodies all aligned until at least 2031, MotoGP is entering its new regulatory era from a position of remarkable strength. The grid is set, the vision is shared, and the road ahead for the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship has rarely looked more secure.
