Over the past few months, menswear moodboard regulars have begun to show in a big way that a pair of sneakers in an eye-catching color is one of the simplest, most effective ways to bring flair to even the most basic fit. There was off-duty Jacob Elordi, who stepped out, pairing his red Nike x Jacquemus “Moon Shoe” with jeans and a navy sweatshirt. Then Harry Styles contrasted it with his tiny red running shorts yellow prada fall sneakers.
Those two, new styles are the latest in a series of shiny sneakers that have debuted since “.kill Bill” The popularity of the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 increased. These days, more and more brands – hello, Puma Speedcat, hi, Neon Dries shoes – are playing tails on the color-wheel when it comes to their shoes. Fearing that these swooshes only look good on celebrities who always look good, I picked up a rainbow-colored pair myself.
