Aprilia has unveiled the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute, a limited-edition sports motorcycle celebrating the Italian manufacturer’s racing success at the historic Phillip Island circuit in Australia. The special edition features exclusive graphics, a distinctive colour scheme and numbered detailing while retaining the standard RS 660’s engine and electronic package.
The motorcycle commemorates Aprilia Racing’s 10 Grand Prix victories at Phillip Island across different classes of the Motorcycle World Championship. The company will showcase the special edition at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy, from November 5 to 8.
The launch also celebrates Aprilia’s long association with the Australian circuit, which has hosted MotoGP races for nearly three decades. Phillip Island is scheduled to leave the MotoGP calendar from 2027, bringing its current run as a premier motorcycle racing venue to an end.
Exclusive design inspired by Phillip Island
The Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute gets a white base colour, complemented by green accents on the side fairings and tail section. Red wheel rims complete the design, with the colours inspired by the Phillip Island circuit’s logo.
The side panels feature the circuit’s layout, the words ‘Phillip Island Circuit’ and a chequered flag graphic representing the finish line. These elements distinguish the special edition from the standard RS 660.
A dedicated badge on the fuel tank commemorates Aprilia’s victories at the Australian circuit. Each motorcycle also receives an individual serial number displayed on the steering head plate, highlighting its limited-edition identity.
The passenger seat cover is included as standard equipment, adding to the motorcycle’s distinctive appearance.
Aprilia has not announced the total production number for the special edition. Pricing and market availability, including whether the motorcycle will be offered in India, have also not been confirmed.
Racing achievements behind the special edition
Aprilia’s history at Phillip Island includes 10 Grand Prix victories across different classes of the Motorcycle World Championship.
One of the most significant results came in 2025, when Raúl Fernández won the MotoGP race at the circuit aboard the Aprilia RS-GP. The victory marked Aprilia’s 300th win in the World Motorcycle Championship.
The Phillip Island Tribute celebrates this racing record through its special styling and numbered identification. Rather than introducing a major mechanical overhaul, Aprilia has retained the RS 660’s existing technical platform and added exclusive cosmetic details.
The motorcycle’s launch also reflects the brand’s effort to connect its road-going sports bikes with its racing heritage.
660cc engine retains familiar performance
The RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute is powered by a 660cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve parallel-twin engine. According to Aprilia’s official specifications, the engine produces 105 hp at 10,400 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 8,400 rpm.
The engine is integrated into the motorcycle’s aluminium frame, contributing to a compact and rigid chassis. The RS 660 platform is designed to balance sports-bike performance with usability on public roads.
The special edition retains the standard model’s mechanical foundation, so its key distinction lies in its exclusive design and commemorative equipment rather than a newly developed engine.
Electronic rider aids and equipment
The motorcycle retains Aprilia’s aPRC electronic control package, supported by a six-axis inertial measurement unit. The system includes adjustable traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control and cornering ABS.
The Ride-by-Wire throttle system allows engine mapping to be adjusted according to riding requirements. Additional equipment includes launch control, a bidirectional quickshifter and cruise control.
These features support the motorcycle’s dual-purpose character as a road-going middleweight sports bike that can also be used for track riding. The electronic systems help riders manage acceleration, braking and traction under different conditions.
The limited edition therefore combines the RS 660’s established performance package with styling that pays tribute to Aprilia’s racing achievements.
India launch details remain unconfirmed
Aprilia has not announced an Indian launch date, price or allocation for the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute. Buyers in India will need to wait for an official announcement before availability and pricing can be confirmed.
The motorcycle will first be displayed at EICMA 2026 in Milan from November 5 to 8, giving visitors an opportunity to see the special edition in person.
With its exclusive colour scheme, circuit-inspired graphics and numbered detailing, the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute celebrates Aprilia’s racing history while preserving the standard model’s technical specifications. Its eventual availability in different markets remains to be confirmed.
