Apple iOS 27.3 Update Adds Health Age Feature, At-Home Fitness Tests And New Siri AI Capabilities

Apple is expanding the role of its devices with new AI-powered tools designed to make everyday information easier to access and remember. Alongside these developments, the company is bringing back its redesigned Health appin the first iOS 27.3 developer beta, after initially testing it in iOS 27.2. The updated app is expected to reach all users next month, with a refreshed experience and new features aimed at offering deeper insights into personal health and fitness data.

Redesigned Apple Health App Gets AI-Powered Features

Apple is upgrading its Health app with tools that make health data more useful beyond simply recording daily activity. The redesigned app introduces an Insights tab that brings together information on sleep, heart health, fitness, vital signs and menstrual cycles. It will also offer personalised suggestions based on users’ patterns, such as recommending changes to bedtime routines after repeated nights of poor sleep. Educational videos and articles featuring health experts will provide additional context.

Apple Health Will Tell You How Your Body Is Ageing

Another addition is the Longevity tab, which looks at health trends over time, covering areas such as heart function, mental wellbeing, nutrition, metabolism and sleep. Its key feature, Health Age, uses Apple Watch measurements, including VO2 max, resting heart rate and heart rate variability, to estimate how a person’s physical health compares with their actual age. Users can also add medical test results, including blood sugar marker A1c and LDL cholesterol levels, to get a broader picture of their long-term health.

iPhone And Apple Watch Can Assess Fitness At Home

Apple is also introducing movement assessments that do not require gym equipment or a professional fitness setup. By combining an iPhone’s camera with an Apple Watch, users can evaluate their strength, flexibility, balance, movement patterns and VO2 max. The assessments provide live audio and visual guidance and use AI models that process information directly on the device. Apple says the system does not record, save or share videos of users. The redesigned Health app will support 10 languages, including English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese.

Apple Watch Gets AI-Powered Live Rewind And Siri Recap

The watchOS 27.3 beta introduces four Audio Intelligence features for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Live Rewind lets users retrieve the previous 15 seconds of a conversation by double-pressing the Digital Crown, displaying the spoken information as text that can be saved or queried through Siri. Siri Recap takes a different approach by turning conversations into brief summaries, highlighting details such as deadlines, dates and important points. These can be saved to Notes or Journal, while unsaved summaries are automatically deleted after seven days. The update also brings Sound Recognition for identifying alerts, sirens and doorbells, alongside Shazam-powered Music Recognition for identifying songs.
