The contract of one of AEW’s longest tenured wrestlers is about to expire.
Many are anxiously waiting to see if another wave of former WWE talent will come to AEW soon. WWE released more than 30 Superstars in the weeks following WrestleMania 42 weekend, and their 90-day non-compete clauses will expire in the summer.
While it remains to be seen which former WWE talents could be coming to AEW, Tony Khan and Co. are reportedly in talks with one of their veteran wrestlers.
But I am saying Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t wrestlinginc.com)Brian Alvarez revealed that Jack Perry’s AEW contract is set to expire “at any moment.” In the final word, Perry had not re-signed, although Alvarez was expected to call put.
“Jack Perry…is negotiating a deal,” Alvarez said. “I was told his deal could be up at any time. And he didn’t sign until yesterday. So I assume he’ll re-sign, but I think anything is possible.”
The son of the late Luke Perry, Jack Perry arrived in AEW in 2019 under the ring name “Jungle Boy”, working with his Jurassic Express tag team partner, Luchasaurus. In 2023, he turned heel and dropped the Jungle Boy ring name and changed it to his real name.

Perry has held four championship belts during his seven-year tenure in AEW. The Jurassic Express claimed the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the January 5, 2022 episode gunpowder and held them for 161 days before losing the belts to the Young Bucks.
He also had singles reigns over the AEW TNT Championship, AEW National Championship, and the now-defunct FTW Championship. Perry was also victorious in the Double or Nothing 2021 Casino Battle Royal, earning a World Championship match which ended with a loss to Kenny Omega.
