Advanced Okuma Cold Water SS A Low Profile Line Counter

Okuma has updated its low-profile line counter reels this year with a new model of the Okuma Cold Water SS A Series low-profile line counter reels. Built for salmon fishing in the cold waters of the Columbia River and Pacific Northwest, this line counter reel is built around a stainless steel gear system, featuring stainless steel main gear, precision-cut pinion gear, and drive and spool shafts. All of this comes together in a rigid diecast aluminum frame delivering unmatched strength, torque and longevity. The line counter is a mechanical line counter that measures feet, giving fishermen the accuracy needed to dial in and target salmon. The reel has a 5.4 to 1 gear ratio and is available in both right and left handed, and is capable of putting out 25 pounds of drag pressure.

“The Coldwater SS LP Line Counter has already proven itself in some of the most demanding fisheries in the country,” said John Bretza, vice president of product for Okuma Fishing. “What makes this update different is how closely we worked with the guides and core anglers who rely on this reel every day. Their feedback helped us refine key details, improve balance, comfort and performance, while staying true to the durability and accuracy the platform is known for.”

The new Okuma Cold Water SS A Series low-profile line counter reel is now available in both left- and right-handed retrieval models. MSRP is set at $249.99 with a 1-year limited warranty from Okuma.
